Does Michigan still have a chance with 5-star Nyckoles Harbor?

Things may not be looking up right now, though the Wolverines might still have a chance.

When it comes to five-star 2023 athlete Nyckoles Harbor, most Michigan football fans are unsure what to think. On the one hand, the Wolverines have been hot on Harbor’s trial for over a year; however, on the other hand, Harbor has now landed two consecutive crystal balls to commit to South Carolina.

The debate will be settled this Wednesday when Harbor announces his commitment. Do the Wolverines still have a fighting chance?

Harbor is a must-get for Michigan football

Nyckoles Harbor is one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2023 cycle, and for some time now, Michigan football has been the favorite to land him. Harbor is a 247 Sports five-star recruit (0.9901 composite) — he is ranked as the No. 15 player in the nation, No. 1 athlete, and No. 1 player in D.C. Harbor is a product of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C.

Do the Wolverines have a chance with Nyckoles Harbor?

On February 1st, Nyckoles Harbor will announce his commitment — Michigan football is said to be among his top choices. Yet, in the world of college football, being among a recruit’s top choices means nothing — Harbor will either be heading to Ann Arbor or he won’t.

Michigan football is among Harbor’s top 5; however, South Carolina received another crystal ball for Harbor yesterday (Monday), so things have not been looking good as of late.

I would not count the Wolverines out of the race just yet, but at the same time, I would not be too hopeful as a Michigan fan for Harbor’s commitment. On Wednesday, everything will sort itself out — it would be a massive grab for the Wolverines to land Harbor; however, I am not expecting him to wear a Winged Helmet this fall by any means. In other words, don’t count Michigan football out just yet, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
