Michigan basketball recruiting making early push for major target
Michigan basketball recruiting has seen its ups and downs over the years since Juwan Howard took over the program back in 2019. After a disappointing year last winter, it has become quite clear that the Wolverines need more from Howard going forward; now, he must get more talent in the door to get his program back on the path to conference titles and NCAA tournament contention as seen in years past.
Recently, it was confirmed that Michigan basketball is one of the top programs in contact with four-star shooting guard Dante Allen, a top 50 recruit in the 2025 recruiting cycle and a major player in the state of Florida. Per the ON3 industry recruiting rankings, Dante Allen is the No. 16 shooting guard in his class and the No. 9 recruit in the state of Florida. Per new reports, Michigan is among the top schools making an early push and has some stout competition, such as the Illinois Fighting Illini.
It is quite early in the 2025 basketball recruiting cycle, but it’s clear that the Michigan Wolverines are already hitting the ground running as they look to replenish their roster for years to come.
