Yesterday, without Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh on the sidelines, the Wolverines claimed their 1,000th all-time win with a nail-biting 31-24 performance against Maryland. This weekend, U-M is slated to face No. 2 Ohio State, once again without Harbaugh. Before the game, on FOX Big Noon Kickoff, college football insider Bruce Feldman explained that it would “not be surprising” if Harbaugh is suspended for most of the 2024 season.

Without Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh, Wolverines remain perfect against Maryland

Michigan football is rolling right now, currently boasting an 11-0 record (8-0 Big Ten) and ranked No. 3 heading into next weekend’s game against 11-0 Ohio State, which is ranked No. 2. If the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes for the third-straight season, Michigan will advance to the Big Ten title game against Iowa and likely a third-straight College Football Playoff as well.

Despite the win at Maryland, Michigan football must now find a way to beat Ohio State without Jim Harbaugh, who is still suspended by the Big Ten Conference — at least from coaching on the sideline (he can still draw up a game plan and be with the team throughout the week).

Bruce Feldman says Harbaugh could miss most of the 2024 college football season

Yesterday, on FOX, Bruce Feldman explained that his sources could see Jim Harbaugh getting suspended for most of the 2024 college football season due to the ongoing investigations into the Michigan football program.

“Going forward, it’s going to be interesting because (Jim Harbaugh) still has an NCAA investigation for recruiting violations from the Covid dead period that the NCAA is still after him about,” Feldman explained. “Now you have this Connor Stalions signal-stealing that (Michigan football is) dealing with. It would not be surprising if Jim Harbaugh — if he is still the coach at Michigan — could be suspended for the bulk of the 2024 season, I’m told.

“Jim Harbaugh was a wildly successful head coach in the NFL,” Feldman added. “Don’t be surprised — if somebody (in the NFL) comes after him — if he decides the timing is right to make a move.”

If the Wolverines overcome Ohio State during next Saturday’s colossal matchup in Ann Arbor, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh will return to the sidelines for the Wolverines’ Big Ten title bout against Iowa and whatever other post-season games Michigan may have.
