Donovan Edwards is one of the top dual-threat college football players in the nation. This fall, as Michigan football pursues a third-straight Big Ten title and a national championship, Edwards will be looked upon as a major contributor for the Wolverinesâ offense.
There is a lot on the line this year, so expect Edwards to receive plenty of attention throughout the season. Recently, ON3 released its top 100 college football players for the 2023 season, and Edwards made the cut among the top 80.
Michigan football running back Donovan Edwards ranked as a top 80 college football player
When Blake Corum was sidelined with an injury in 2022, Donovan Edwards was asked to step up and carry a large workload despite a knee injury and a broken hand. Despite setbacks for the Wolverines, Edwards rushed for over 200 yards against Ohio State and 185 yards in the Big Ten title game, leading the way to two-straight dominant victories.
Heading into the 2023 season, with his injuries patched up, Michigan football is looking for bigger and better things from Donovan Edwards and the Wolverinesâ offense. All the pieces are in place, and the nation is taking notice. According to the newest top 100 college football player rankings, Edwards comes in at No. 79 overall.
In addition to Edwards, Blake Corum is also ranked in the top 100; he broke into the top 15, ranking as the No. 14 player in college football. With this elite duo returning for a second-straight season of dominance, Michigan football is clearly in great hands as they look to break through the programâs glass ceiling and claim a national title.
