The 2023 recruiting class was not Jim Harbaugh’s best work — despite winning two straight Big Ten titles and more, the Wolverines’ class was barely ranked in the top 20 and was without a five-star all said and done. That said, Michigan football has seemingly picked itself back up, boasting a top-2 2024 class and more. Now, with his commitment date set, Harbaugh is trending for a new 2024 offensive line target.

2024 offensive line target sets commitment date for April

On April 28th (which is fast approaching), Jake Guarnera — a 2024 offensive line target for Michigan football — will announce his commitment. According to new On3 predictions, Guarnera is expected to pick the Michigan Wolverines all said and done, and he reportedly loved his most recent visits to Ann Arbor. Still, four other schools made his recent top-5: Rutgers, NC State, Florida, and Penn State.

With two major Big Ten schools still in the running alongside an ACC school, an SEC school, and Rutgers, this recruitment should be a big one for Michigan football.

Who is this possible commitment?

Jake Guarnera is a consensus three-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 31 interior offensive lineman and No. 80 player in the state of Florida according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. While Jake Guarnera does not have the star ratings that some of Michigan’s other top recruits do, his 6-foot-4, 290-pound frame is precisely what Jim Harbaugh’s staff is looking for. If he commits, he will undoubtedly make an incredible addition to the 2024 Michigan Wolverines recruiting class.

He currently has two crystal balls — both for Michigan — and is favored to commit to the Wolverines according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
