Michigan football is finally revealing the new and improved renovations to the locker room and facilities at Schembechler Hall.
In a new world of college football with more revenue and big-name teams generating a lot of it, this is long overdue for the Wolverines since it was last updated in 2009. It’s better late than never!
After a national championship and three straight Big Ten Championships, it was time for a new and more modern look for U-M football.
Take a look inside the new locker room inside the photos below:
A Look Inside the New Michigan Locker Room at Schembechler Hall
The Michigan football program has completely refurbished the locker room with newly upgraded stalls for each player. Team mottos surround the entire room to remind the players what they are truly playing for.
Not only do they have a more modern locker room, but they have also added new player lounge areas with walls of memorabilia commemorating the national championship. Additionally, a golf simulator, a massive flat-screen TV in one of the player lounges, and even a barber shop.
It’s a massive upgrade, which comes well deserved given the team’s undeniable success over three seasons.
How Does A New Locker Room Impact the Wolverines?
While the old locker room was not insanely out of date, there was a clear difference compared to what most championship football programs have.
Now, Michigan is on the same level.
As much as we hate to admit it, the quality and ambiance of a locker room plays a factor in a recruit’s decision on where to go to school. It isn’t the main factor for most, but it definitely plays a part.
Now, Michigan football recruiting can finally appeal more to rising prospects and visitors with an extravagant locker room like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and more.
