Michigan football schedules official visits with 5-stars, elite recruits

Michigan football has a lot of work to do in the 2025 recruiting class, but the Wolverines are going to have double-digit recruits on campus in the next month who are ranked in the top 100 according to On3.

Michigan hosted a bunch of highly-ranked prospects during the 2024 class too. So Michigan needs to take advantage of these visits, but there are some major talents with official visits scheduled. The headliner might be five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola.

Oklahoma, Kansas State, and other schools are in the mix but the Wolverines seem to have a realistic shot of landing the elite O-line prospect from Kansas who is ranked 26th overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Another big-time prospect who has scheduled an official visit is Derek Meadows. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wideout out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas will also visit Notre Dame, which has a crystal ball projection, plus LSU, Alabama, and Georgia.

That will make landing Meadows difficult, but the Wolverines are at least putting themselves in the mix to be a serious contender.

Double-digit top-100 recruits to visit Michigan football

I wouldn’t expect the Wolverines to start landing top-100 recruits frequently, but you aren’t going to land any if you don’t get them on campus. That’s a sign that both sides are serious about a recruitment.

Michigan football is five for five on blue-chip prospects so far in the 2025 class. They even have a top-100 commitment from D-lineman Nate Marshall, and they definitely need to add more high-end talent to this class.

But Michigan is off to a good start. The Wolverines have some of their top targets visiting in the next month and it would be great to see U-M close out a slew of commitments, as they just did in the transfer portal.
