Michigan football star says there’s ‘no concern’ over offensive issues

Michigan football is still not concerned with the offensive woes after a sloppy game against Bowling Green.

The Wolverines’ offense has been underwhelming thus far — despite playing three straight games against lesser competition, the Maize and Blue are yet to break 40 points this year. Against Bowling Green yesterday, Michigan scored 31 points, and once again, the run game/offensive line appeared to struggle. Still, after the game, Michigan football star Blake Corum insisted that the run game is not a cause for concern within Schembechler Hall right now.

Michigan football star Blake Corum is not concerned with run game woes

For the first time this year, a Michigan football running back broke the 100-yard mark on the ground — it was star ball carrier Blake Corum, who ran for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns during the Wolverines’ 31-6 victory over Bowling Green. That said, it was a rough day for the offensive line, making it three straight average/subpar performances from the line this year.

Despite some offensive issues, Michigan football star Blake Corum remains high on the O-line and run game.

“No concern, man,” Michigan football senior running back Blake Corum said of the run game. “Go look at the stats. You know, we probably had the same stats as last year. First three games last year, I never rushed for 100 yards. No concern, man. Calm, cool, and collected. It’s gonna hit when it’s gonna hit, you know? So no concern in Schembechler (Hall).”

Sherrone Moore adds his thoughts on the rushing attack against Bowling Green

Additionally, Michigan football interim head coach and full-time offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore had this to say about the Wolverines’ rushing attack yesterday.

“I mean, I think we ran the ball pretty well,” Moore stated following Michigan’s 31-6 win. “Blake (Corum) went over 100 (yards). We only had the ball for 44 plays, but we had 312 yards, and obviously, when you have the interception, the turnovers, that’s what’s going to happen. I thought we moved the line of scrimmage very well. Thought those guys up front took to the challenge that we gave to them this week to continue to attack, but it got to a point where they just wanted to run the ball and kind of get out of the game. So I think overall, from a running game standpoint, we definitely improved, and we just got to continue improving all facets of the game.”

Jim Harbaugh is finally back

It is clear that Michigan football fans are worried about the offense this year, and quite frankly, after yesterday’s game, I cannot blame anyone too much. Still, when it comes to the team and coaching staff, it appears that there is nothing to worry about just yet — the Wolverines are 3-0, and finally, for the first time in 2023, Jim Harbaugh is officially back from suspension.
