Michigan football will have a terrifying offense in 2023

According to BB’s Big House (Twitter), Michigan football returns 30 players from last year’s roster that played 220+ snaps during the 2022 season. This is good news for the Wolverines, as 2023 may be the most experienced Michigan football team we have seen in quite some time. On offense, that is very apparent as Michigan is looking loaded up and down the depthchart.

JJ McCarthy has Heisman finalist potential

At quarterback will be rising junior JJ McCarthy, who took over as the Wolverines’ full-time starter in Week 2 last year. McCarthy proceeded to win his first 12 starts, including a 41-17 win over Penn State, a 29-7 win over Michigan State, a 45-23 win over Ohio State, and a 43-22 win over Purdue. As the season went on, McCarthy grew into the quarterback that we all wanted him to be out of high school — a prolific passer, effective runner, and a great team leader.

Michigan’s backfield is loaded

Along side McCarthy in Michigan’s backfield will be the most excellent running back duo in the nation: rising junior Donovan Edwards and rising senior Blake Corum. As all Michigan football fans know, these two will be the focal point of the Wolverines’ offense this fall. Edwards is one of the best dual-threat players (running back and receiver) that we have seen in Ann Arbor since Jabrill “Do it All” Peppers took his final snap a the Big House in 2016.

Blake Corum, Michigan’s 2022 Heisman contending running back, recently announced that he too would be taking the field in Ann Arbor for one more season — a massive addition to Michigan’s roster, to say the least.
