Today, one of the top-ranked defenders in the 2024 recruiting class released the top-5 finalists in his recruitment. Among the remaining programs are Michigan football and Ohio State, who are both still in the running for elite 2024 safety Zaquan Patterson, along with Florida State, Miami (FL), and Auburn.

Zaquan Patterson is one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2024 recruiting class right now. Patterson’s mix of skill and a 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame make him an ideal target for any major program, including Michigan football and Ohio State, who were named finalists on Sunday afternoon.

Patterson has trimmed his finalist list down to five schools, and Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines are still looking to make a massive push for Patterson. From his comments on Michigan earlier today, it seems reasonable to think that the Wolverines have a solid shot here.

“Michigan is another school that has been here since day one and has consistently kept in contact with me throughout the process,” Patterson told Hayes Fawcett of On3. “Me and coach Clink’s relationship has been great. The guy is a gem and he loves the game as much as I do.”

According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Zaquan Patterson is a four-star safety recruit and is ranked as the No. 73 recruit nationally, the No. 5 safety in the class, and the No. 12 player in the state of Florida. His finalist announcement comes just a few days after a recent recruiting visit with Michigan football on April 18th.
