Class of 2026 wide receiver Zion Robinson announced his commitment to Michigan today, after weeks of public deliberation over where he would be spending his next four years. Robinson is the sixth-ranked WR prospect by 247Sports in the class of ’26, and should prove a fantastic asset for Michigan.
Robinson’s commitment comes after official visits to Miami, Nebraska, and Texas Tech, as well as offers from heavy hitters Oregon, Notre Dame, and Texas, among others. Ultimately, wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy swayed him, making Robinson the second four-star recruit for Bellamy, after Jacob Washington, come 2026. After his senior season this fall, the Texas native will be suiting up in the maize and blue.
Zion Robinson is a Beast on All Fronts
Robinson not only dominates on the football field. He also played basketball, and was named the Texas state high jump champion in track and field his sophomore year, with a 6-8 jump in Spring 2024. His widespread athleticism makes him a versatile receiver, which he has clearly proven on the turf; his junior year, Robinson caught 42 passes for a total of 527 yards and 8 touchdowns, with an average of 12.5 yards per reception.
After his official visit to Ann Arbor at the beginning of this month, Robinson told Brice Marich of Michigan Insider, “Just the people (stood out the most). Everyone is nice. It was great. I love the culture,” making him one of many recruits to highlight the culture at Michigan as a reason for their commitment. Robinson’s love of the culture combined with his sheer athleticism should prove him an invaluable asset to Coach Bellamy’s WR room next fall.
Robinson’s commitment certainly propels Michigan’s 2026 recruiting class even further up the ranks, with more still to come. Suffice it to say, the Sherrone Moore era of Michigan Football is in full swing.
