Michigan football’s offense is expected to look much different next season, but senior offensive lineman Giovanni El-Hadi announced on social media Wednesday that he’ll return for his final season. In four seasons El-Hadi appeared in 42 games with 14 starts, and most of his action was at guard.

The 6-foot-5, 310 pound Michigan native was named as an All-Big Ten honoree in 2024 (honorable mention) by coaches and media. El-Hadi started at right guard in every game of the 2024 season.

Over the course of 2023’s national championship run, El-Hadi played in all 15 games. He played on the offensive line in 11 contests and contributed to special teams in 12 games. Since appearing in one contest as a freshman, El-Hadi has never played in less than 12 games in a season.

“With one year of eligibility remaining, I have made the decision to return to Michigan for my final season and help bring home another national championship,” El-Hadi said in his social media post. “I am completely dedicated to this team, this university, and to giving my all on the field, trusting that god will guide us every step of the way.”
