It’s laughable to look back a couple of months and think about all the hand-wringing taking place about Michigan football recruiting.

As it stands now, after ranking outside the top 50 to start the month of June, Michigan football, following 11 2025 commitments, is on the verge of a top-10 class. Michigan is ranked 12th overall in the team rankings for the 2025 class according to 247 Sports, but there are some highly-ranked targets still on the board.

More positive buzz for Michigan football recruiting

Some of them will be visiting Michigan football at the end of the month for the recruiting BBQ. There is one weekend in July that’s not part of the dead period and it’s a chance for the Wolverines to make some headway in 2025 and 2026.

In terms of 2025, a few key targets have already confirmed visits. Four-star wideout Andrew Marsh will be back on campus. The Wolverines will be looking to close out that commitment. Four-star cornerback Jayden Sanders will also visit that weekend.

Sanders, who has recently been projected to Michigan football by multiple experts, told Steve Wiltfong of On3.com that he’ll decide soon after he visits Ann Arbor.

That bodes well for the Wolverines. So does the fact that Jerome Myles, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver ranked 76th overall in the 2025 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, will also visit for the BBQ.

Myles is out of Utah. The Utah Utes are the leader according to the On3 prediction machine, while Michigan, Texas A&M, Penn State, and LSU are also in the mix according to what Myles told Wiltfong.

The four-star wideout told Wiltfong he will visit Michigan football for the BBQ. He might take an official visit during the season, which would be massive for the Wolverines’ chances of landing the top-100 wideout and yet another blue-chip recruit.
