On Wednesday, a four-star Texas prospect announced that he will be heading to Ann Arbor this spring. This recruit is none other than the son of former Michigan football offensive lineman Steve Frazier, a two-time Big Ten Champion (1997-98) and one-time National Champion (1997) during his five year career in the Maize and Blue (1995-99). Blake Frazier, Steve’s son, will be visiting with Harbaugh & Co. on March 17-20 on an unofficial visit.

Blake Frazier announces unofficial visit

Blake Frazier is a 247 Sports four-star offensive tackle from Vandegrift High School in Austin, TX. He stands at 6-5 and weighs in around 260 pounds — he is ranked as the No. 152 player nationally, the No. 7 offensive tackle, and the No. 25 prospect from Texas in the 2024 recruiting class. The Michigan Wolverines already have an incredible recruiting class put together in 2024 — it currently ranks top-5 in the country — though the addition of Frazier would make it much better.

Frazier’s unofficial visit is first steps for Harbaugh’s staff

Right now, it is too early in Frazier’s recruitment to make any bold predictions, though his unofficial visit to UM could be make-or-break for Michigan. Frazier has an extensive offer list, including teams from many Power Five conferences such as Auburn, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, Penn State, USC, LSU, Texas A&M, and many more.

Seeing as the Wolverines have plenty of high-caliber competition, next month’s unofficial visit will be an important early impression for Michigan football. If all goes well, Blake Frazier could be the second member of his family to win a National Title in the Winged Helmet.
