Santaluces' Jamar Browder comes down with a catch during a 27-21 win against Somerset Canyons on Aug. 23, 2024.

Michigan football hasn’t had many issues bringing in talented recruits this season despite its offensive woes. On Friday the maize and blue flipped three-star WR Jamar Browder from NC State. The former Wolfpack commit is a top 100 player coming out of Florida in the 2025 class.

Jamar Browder Flips to Michigan

Browder said the environment in Ann Arbor was one of the deciding factors.

“I get along with the coaches,” Browder said. “I see myself playing there and being an impact player. I think they need some help, and I can help. I liked the atmosphere there. I play better in big games and in front of more people, so I feel like it’s the type of place I need to be.”

Browder had been committed to NC State since June, but Michigan had a size deficit in the wide receiver room. Browder is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, so he immediately gives the Wolverines a big-framed target. Browder said wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy’s genuineness stood out during recruiting.

“Coach Bellamy knows where I’m from and gets my lingo,” Browder said. “It’s like talking to someone from home. He was just being himself. He didn’t have a pitch. He just told me about the plays and concepts and quizzed me. I passed the test, so that was good. He said they need me. He wasn’t lying. They definitely need some size and someone that can go get it.”
