Michigan football had a more than productive 2025 recruiting cycle, coming in at No. 6 in the nation, per On3. The staff also worked up to the wire and landed five-star OT Ty Haywood on national signing day. 247Sports released their recruiter rankings Saturday, and three members of the Michigan staff appeared in the top ten.
Michigan football with 3 recruiters ranked in top 10
The three Michigan staffers in the top ten are offensive line coach Grant Newsome (No. 3), wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy (No. 4) and defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan (No. 8). No other team has more than two recruiters in the top 18. Oregon safeties coach Chris Hampton came in at No. 1.
Newsome was key in bringing in Haywood, five-star OT Andrew Babalola, four-star IOL Avery Gach and three-star IOL Kaden Strayhorn. Out of the transfer portal, Michigan added three-star IOL Brady Norton (Cal Poly) and three-star IOL Lawrence Hattar (Ferris State).
Bellamy is the offensive passing game coordinator in addition to his work in the wide receiver room. Including quarterbacks, he helped bring in No. 1 recruit QB Bryce Underwood, three-star QB Chase Herbstreit, four-star WR Andrew Marsh, four-star WR Jacob Washington and three-star WR Jamar Browder.
Through the portal the Wolverines added three-star QB Mikey Keene (Fresno State), three-star WR Donaven McCulley (Indiana) and three-star WR Anthony Simpson (UMass).

The transfer defensive backs include three-star brother duo TJ (S) and Tevis (CB) Metcalf (Arkansas) and three-star CB Caleb Anderson (Louisiana).
