4 Michigan players in top-20 of updated NFL mock draft

Michigan football set a program record with seven top-100 picks in 2024, and another host of Wolverines are expected to go early this April. Defensive tackles Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, cornerback Will Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland will likely be first rounders. 

Loveland had shoulder surgery in late January, but he will reportedly be ready for minicamp. 

Michigan football with 4 top-20 picks in new NFL mock draft

CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso released a new mock draft Wednesday, and Michigan is well represented. Here is where each player is projected to be drafted, along with a brief explanation from Trapasso.

Mason Graham – Round 1, Pick 5 – Jacksonville Jaguars

“The Jaguars get a serious upfield rusher with nose tackle size who’s a tremendous run defender in Graham.”

Will Johnson – Round 1, Pick 14 – Indianapolis Colts

“Johnson is the ideal cornerback prototype to match up with Nico Collins on the perimeter in the AFC South. Big, long, athletic.”

Kenneth Grant – Round 1, Pick 16 – Arizona Cardinals

Grant is bound to be one of those supremely athletic big men who awe at the combine and go much earlier in the draft than people think.

Colston Loveland – Round 1, Pick 20 – Denver Broncos 

“Sean Payton gets a talented receiving tight end to work the seam for Bo Nix.”

At the NFL draft combine this weekend, Loveland isn’t expected to participate, Johnson will likely be limited and Graham and Grant will be a full go.
