Michigan football has been a force in the transfer portal recently, and it’s also ramping up efforts for the class of 2026. Earlier this week the Wolverines took to the road with head coach Sherrone Moore, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, running backs coach Tony Alford, offensive line coach Grant Newsome and general manager Sean Magee. The staff traveled to the DMV area as well as Georgia, and they put the maize and blue on a few more radars.
Michigan football offers several 2026 prospects on road trip
The Wolverines already have an offer on the table for Louisa County High (Va.) running back Savion Hiter. The staff visited him on Wednesday, as they hope to lock down a commitment from the No. 1 RB in the 2026 class (per 247Sports).
On Tuesday, Moore and company took an up-close look at four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson out of Oscar Smith High in Chesapeake, Va. Johnson stands at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds and is ranked as the fourth-best player in the state of Virginia (per On3 and ESPN). The Wolverines also visited and offered four-star cornerback Jaziel Hart (North Cross High, Va.) on Tuesday.
Based on what Johnson’s mother told On3’s EJ Holland ($), the Wolverines made a strong impression.
“We absolutely felt like such a top priority,” Tiffany said. “There were four coaches from Michigan here to see my son. It was amazing. It was really awesome. We didn’t have too much time since I had to go to work, but they stayed with Travis when I left and kept talking to him. I’m very thankful and grateful. Travis had all the people there that he needed to talk to about their vision for him and how he would fit in. As a mom, it means the world that they took the time to come to the 757.”
Also on Tuesday, Michigan offered four-star cornerback Khary Adams (Loyola Blakefield High, Md.). 247Sports has Adams ranked as the second best cornerback in the class.
On Monday, Michigan extended an offer to two safeties out of Georgia in Blake Stewart (Atlanta) and Kealan Jones (Marietta). Stewart is a four-star prospect, while Jones is unranked.
The Wolverines also offered offensive tackle Johnnie Jones out of Tampa (Fla.) earlier this month.
