Jenissa Conway named Big Ten Player of the Week

As we slowly approach the end of the regular season and the college softball world series gets closer, head coach Bonnie Tholl’s Wolverines are looking to make a lasting impression on the season. Tholl rounded out last season, her second season as leader of the Michigan women’s softball program, with a stunning 43-18 record. 43 marked the fifth-most wins in a season in program history.

Now at 27-9 this season, the Wolverines are on a high, and one of the strongest contributors is sophomore outfielder Jenissa Conway. Conway was named Big Ten Player of the Week this week, after a stellar performance over the course of just four games.

Jenissa Conway is Making Big Waves Early On

In Saturday’s double header against in-state rival Michigan State, Conway put up an astounding four home runs and ten RBIs. Last week, Conway boasted a batting average of .800, resulting in eight runs over four games.

As a sophomore, Conway shows immense promise for the future of the Wolverines. If she’s playing this hard in year two, claiming the title of Big Ten Player of the Week with such high-level stats, the next few years are sure to be a riot.
