The Michigan football recruiting BBQ is always an important event on the recruiting calendar. With the changing calendar, it won’t happen again, at least not in July, but some key 2025 targets were part of the BBQ which featured more 2026, 2027, and 2028 recruits.

Three uncommitted recruits were visiting this weekend. One of them is top-100 wideout Andrew Marsh, ranked 58th overall according to the 247 Spots composite rankings for the 2025 class. Marsh is from Texas and visited twice in June, including once for an official visit.

Ever since that official visit, Michigan football has been trending as the favorite. Marsh moved up his decision date and there has been a flood of crystal balls and expert projections.

Michigan football got another expert projection on Saturday for the On3 prediction machine which now gives the Wolverines an 89-percent chance to win the commitment of Marsh.

More good news for Michigan football recruiting

Another top-100 wideout, Jerome Myles, also visited Michigan football this weekend. He recently decommitted from Ole Miss. Utah, Texas A&M, and Michigan are among the contenders. Myles is from the state of Utah, but this visit is important. U-M probably needs to get him back for an official visit in the fall.

However, another wide receiver in the 2025 class, Phillip Wright, who committed two weeks ago, also made it to Ann Arbor according to Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider.

It was reported that Wright was going to visit LSU this weekend. He is from Louisiana after all, so the fact that he still made it to Michigan speaks volumes. That doesn’t mean Michigan football is safe from the flip attempt of LSU, but I feel better knowing that visited U-M again.
