Things are rolling right now for Michigan football recruiting. The Wolverines landed three commitments in the 2025 class last week and this week, they landed a top-100 quarterback in 2026.

Whatever the rivals say, Michigan football is starting to recruit like a team that just won a national championship. They aren’t dropping bags of money like Ohio State, but kids are buying what the Wolverines are selling.

Another who appears set to be a Michigan football commitment is three-star linebacker Chase Taylor. The 6-foot-3, 201-pounder out of Stockbridge, Georgia, is ranked No. 571 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Taylor has an impressive offer list though. LSU is among the programs to offer, along with Florida State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi State, South Carolina, USC, Georgia Tech, and others.

Michigan football is the favorite for LB Chase Taylor

Taylor has visited USC, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech recently. But he’s got an official visit this weekend with Michigan football and prior to that, Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider has logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Wolverines to land Taylor.

Last season, Taylor notched 73 tackles, six tackles for loss, and six sacks. As a sophomore, he also had three sacks, giving him nine in two seasons as a starter in high school football. Brian Jean-Mary has been working on Taylor as the primary recruiter and also offered him when he was an assistant at Tennessee.

Jean-Mary and the Vols were one of the first power-4 programs to offer Taylor, so it makes sense that Jean-Mary is a big reason why the linebacker is now trending to be a Michigan football commitment.
