Last week, photos of a man — who is believed to be ex-Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions — on the CMU sideline surfaced on social media. Since then, Central Michigan has launched an investigation into the photos, and now, after days of investigating with no results, the NCAA has joined in. Stalions, who has since resigned from his post within Jim Harbaugh’s program, is at the heart of Michigan’s alleged sign-stealing scandal.
NCAA joins CMU investigation into Connor Stalions
Today, it was reported that the Central Michigan-led investigation into Connor Stalions’ alleged presence on their sideline against Michigan State in Week 1 of the 2023 season. CMU has been investigating for quite some time, and with no results thus far, the NCAA has decided to step in and join the investigation. Below is a revised statement from Central Michigan University.
“Central Michigan continues its review of the matter in cooperation with the NCAA. As this is an ongoing NCAA enforcement matter, we are unable to provide further comment at this time,” reads today’s statement from CMU.
As mentioned, Connor Stalions stepped down from his position with Michigan football last week amid an NCAA investigation into his alleged illegal sign-stealing methods. This weekend, despite all that is going on, Jim Harbaugh will lead his No. 3 Michigan Wolverines into State College to face the No. 9 Penn State Nittany Lions for a noon kickoff at Beaver Stadium
