Former Cal Poly offensive lineman Brady Norton committed to Michigan Monday night. The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder visited Ann Arbor on Monday and made his decision quickly. Norton also held an Ohio State offer, but the California native chose to wear maize and blue and even stuck it to the Buckeyes in his commitment post.
Transfer OL Brady Norton commits to Michigan
Norton redshirted as a freshman, so he has three seasons of eligibility left. He started 11 games at left tackle for the Mustangs this season, and as a freshman he played on the right side as well. According to On3, Norton was a top three offensive lineman in the portal.
Within the Big Sky Conference he was the only freshman offensive lineman to receive FCS Central Freshman All-American honors. Norton allowed zero sacks at Cal Poly, and PFF had him as the highest graded offensive lineman in the FCS. Cal Poly finished the season 3-8 for the second year in a row.
Michigan has to replace multiple offensive lineman at the conclusion of this season. Both Myles Hinton (left tackle) and Josh Priebe (left guard) will be out of eligibility after the ReliaQuest Bowl. Additionally, Raheem Anderson, Andrew Gentry, Dominick Guidice and Tristan Bounds entered the transfer portal.
With the quarterback situation mostly figured out, Michigan will likely do everything it can to make sure the trenches are taken care of.
