Tomorrow, the Wolverines will once again put their undefeated record to the test during the team’s first road game of the 2023 season against Nebraska. For the Maize and Blue, who have won four straight and counting, heading into a big game environment like Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE, will be a good mid-season test, helping prep Michigan for Big Ten play and road games like Penn State, which will be a mid-November game. Today, we got a preview of tomorrow’s Michigan football uniform combo, and it’s one that we haven’t seen a a while now.
Classic Michigan football uniform combo set to return tomorrow against Nebraska
The last time that Michigan football rocked the white jersey with maize pants was against Indiana on the road last fall — a game that the Wolverines won by 21 points all said and done. Additionally, Michigan is 2-2 in games where it wears white jerseys with maize pants under Jim Harbaugh, with the 2017 Penn State game and the 2021 Michigan State game being the team’s two losses. The Wolverines avenged this loss with a 21-17 victory over the Nittany Lions in 2021, a game in which the team rocked the white-on-maize combo once again.
Tomorrow, for the first time in a year, the Wolverines will once again wear maize pants with white jerseys when they take on Nebraska.

Michigan’s lone trip to Lincoln under Jim Harbaugh was back in 2021, when the Wolverines narrowly escaped Scott Frost’s upset hopes, claiming a three-point victory. During that game, the Michigan football uniform combo was the much more common white-on-white, which made its return debut during Jim Harbaugh’s first year as head coach back in 2015.
Tomorrow, the Wolverines are rocking a classic look; however, in future games, keep an eye out for the white-on-white and white-on-blue combos to make their 2023 debut, perhaps as early as the Minnesota game in Week 6.
Michigan football is currently favored by 17 points against the Cornhuskers, who are under new head coach Matt Rhule and looking for a signature upset win over the Big Ten’s top dog.
