Michigan running back Blake Corum (2) takes the field with teammates Nov. 26, 2022 before the game vs. Ohio State at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

Former Michigan football staff member Connor Stalions made an appearance on the Barstool Sports podcast Bussin’ with the Boys on Tuesday. Stalions recounted his journey with co-hosts Will Compton and former Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan.

Late in the 2021 season, the Wolverines needed Michigan State to lose twice for it to have a shot at a postseason. MSU went on to lose to Purdue and Ohio State. During the interview, Stalions revealed that he played a key part in the Wolverines reaching the Big Ten championship and College Football Playoff later that season.

“I gave Michigan State’s signals to a buddy of mine,” Stalions said. “I changed all the logos; I made it look like it came from a different school. I don’t want to give Ohio State something from Michigan, right? They might not use it, who knows. We needed Ohio State to win, and I know they steal the crap out of defensive signals, so here you go.”

“So I gave it to a buddy, who may have given it to a buddy, who then gave it to Ohio State,” Stalions said. “I’m sure they probably already had them, but it just confirmed everything.”

Ohio State dismantled MSU in 2021 by a score of 56-7, and Michigan went on to beat Ohio State 42-27. The Wolverines proceeded to win a Big Ten championship over Iowa before losing to Georgia in the CFP semifinal.
