Michigan football continued to build momentum on the recruiting trail this weekend, landing the commitment of three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright.
Wright is one of the lowest-ranked commitments in the 2025 class for Michigan football, but that doesn’t make me any less excited about him. The Louisiana wide receiver ran 10.46 in the 100-meter dash, which has me plenty excited about his future with the Wolverines.
Georgia was in the mix for Wright. LSU also started pushing for him and it doesn’t seem like the Tigers are going to back off before signing day as they probably will try to keep pushing to flip Wright.
Yet, the Wolverines did a stellar job, and having Ron Bellamy, also from Lousiana on staff, is paying dividends as three players from the state have committed in the 2025 class — all in the past month or so.
Now comes the common question after a commitment, who is next?
Who will be the next commitment for Michigan football?
Three 2025 recruits could realistically be the next commitment in my view for the Wolverines in the 2025 class. One of them is five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola.
A few recruiting experts have said that Michigan football leads for Babalola but none have put in a crystal ball or an expert projection. Yet, it seems clear that this battle is down to U-M and Stanford, and if Babalola wants to play in the NFL someday, the Wolverines are the best option.
There is no decision date for Babalola yet. But it could come at any time. Andrew Marsh, a top-100 wideout, is set to make a decision next month but could be the next commitment. Jayden Sanders, a four-star cornerback who will take an official visit to Ann Arbor later this month is another good bet.
None of these guys have decision dates and I would say Babalola and Sanders are most likely next, if they commit to Michigan at all, just because Marsh has talked about August as a timeline.
We shall see.
