Michigan men’s basketball forward/center Danny Wolf announced on social media Wednesday that he will declare for the 2025 NBA Draft. Wolf spent two seasons at Yale and one at Michigan as he plans to forgo his final season of college eligibility. He has until June 15 at 5 p.m. ET to withdraw his name.

Listed at 7-foot-0, 250 pounds, Wolf put the nation on notice last season with the Wolverines. The Glencoe, Ill., native helped resurrect Michigan and take it to the Sweet 16, winning a Big Ten tournament championship on the way. Wolf grew up as a Michigan fan and said he will never forget his time in the maize and blue.

“When I left Yale, I didn’t know what my basketball future held, and I knew what it wanted to be at this level,” Wolf said after the Sweet 16 loss to Auburn. “… I have so much respect and gratitude for my coaches for allowing me to come here. It was arguably the greatest year of my life and I made so many amazing relationships. I met my brothers for life, and we had an unbelievable locker room and we stuck with each other through the ups and downs.”

Wolf averaged 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 blocks per game while starting all 37 games for Michigan last season. He had 29 double-doubles in his career, including 15 with the Wolverines. He tied Maryland big men Derick Queen and Julian Reese for the most double-doubles in the Big Ten.

With the emergence of players like Victor Wembanyama, it’s imperative for an NBA team to be able to stretch the floor. As a versatile seven-footer, Wolf should be a first round pick.
