ANN ARBOR – Earlier this season, Michigan forward Danny Wolf was turning the ball over almost as much as he turned heads. However, in February, Wolf has given the ball away no more than three times in a game. Additionally, the Wolverines as a team have protected the ball much better this month, as the turnover number has gone down nearly every game.

Danny Wolf shares how he’s letting the game come to him

Wolf is averaging exactly ten rebounds per game to go with 12.9 points per contest. In five games this month he has three double-doubles, and he was one rebound away in the other two games.

Wolf said he’s been more patient as of late.

“I think a big part for me is just trying to let the game come to me,” Wolf said at a press conference Wednesday. “I felt in a few of those games, where I just wasn’t myself, I just tried to press and forced some issues. As of late I’ve really tried trusting my game (and) trusting my instincts, and everything just seems to be slowing down for me.”

Ohio State was throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Wolf on Sunday. Whether it was a different defender or a different look schematically, the Michigan big-man said he wasn’t bothered by it.

“Ohio State had their center on me some possessions, they had Bruce Thornton on me to end the game, and I think I’m just trying to take what the game gives me,” Wolf said. “If I have a smaller guy I’m going to try to post up more and get more post touches, and if a team wants to double (I’ll) try to play out of that, or if I get 1-on-1 that’s good for me as well.

“… It’s exciting for me because I get to try new things.”
