If there is one position group that should be easy for Michigan football to recruit, it should be the offensive line. Sherrone Moore, the head coach, was a former offensive lineman and former O-line coach. The Wolverines won the Joe Moore Award in back-to-back seasons (2021 and 2022) and love to run the ball, in addition to sending a bunch of dudes to the NFL.

Offensive linemen love to “smash” as Sherrone Moore calls it and the Michigan football head coach guaranteed the program would maintain that identity in his introductory press conference. In terms of recruiting, it has led to a lot of success on the trail, and looking ahead to the 2026 class, one of the top offensive line prospects, Darius Gray, who was recently offered, is expected to visit the Wolverines according to EJ Holland of On3.

Elite Offensive lineman to visit Michigan football

Holland called Gray, “One of the most dominant players he saw live last fall.” The long-time Michigan football recruiting reporter also wrote that Gray has scheduled his first visit, which is a good sign for the Wolverines. The 76th overall prospect in 2026 according to the On3 Industry rankings, he’s 6-foot-3, 285 pounds, and one of the No. 3 interior offensive linemen in the 2026 cycle.

“It felt great to get the offer,” Gray told Holland. “They were one of the first top schools to offer me, so I felt really blessed to get it. You always see Michigan up there with the big names. For them to take a chance on me early is a blessing. Michigan is just a great program.”

The standout offensive lineman will visit Michigan on April 18th. He’s also got a bunch of high-level offers from Alabama, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wisconsin, among others. It might seem early for the 2026 class, but it’s never too early to build that relationship with elite talent and it looks like the Wolverines are doing just that with Darius Gray.
