Today, ahead of Monday’s Rose Bowl matchup between Alabama and Michigan, we had a chance to observe some of the Wolverines’ pre-CFP practice in LA. There, we saw new Michigan football QB Jadyn Davis, the jewel of Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 recruiting class, practicing with the Wolverines for the first time.
First look at new Michigan football QB Jadyn Davis at practice before Rose Bowl
Jadyn Davis is expected to be a JJ McCarthy-caliber player for Michigan football, and so far, it appears that he has been a vocal leader for Harbaugh’s 2024 signing class, which put pen to paper and signed their letters of intent last week.
“Yeah, (Jadyn Davis) has been great, man,” Sherrone Moore said on Friday. “Smart, tactical, great arm, accurate. He’s going to be a really good player for us.”
Earlier today, following Michigan’s offensive media availability, we made the trip out to the Wolverines’ practice and were allowed to observe for an allotted time frame, where we saw Jim Harbaugh coaching up his future quarterback (below).
We’ll see if the freshman Michigan football QB can make a splash for the Wolverines in 2024, but for the time being, it appears that the Maize and Blue are quite happy about how Davis has been performing thus far. While Jim Harbaugh and the staff remain unsure about next year’s quarterback battle, and the fact remains that Davis likely won’t get the starting nod as a freshman, there should be plenty of opportunity for him to shine next fall.
