Former Wolverine visits MSU and Michigan football fans wish him luck

Michigan State fans freaked out about Jaden Mangham taking a visit to Michigan football but Wolverines nation had a different energy for Semaj Bridgeman.

It was kind of wild to see Michigan State fans freaking out so much about the idea of Jaden Mangham leaving the Spartans for Michigan football.

To be clear, we are a long way from that happening. Mangham, the former four-star recruit who has intercepted four passes over the past two seasons for the Spartans, entered the transfer portal right before the spring window closed.

Mangham is now taking visits. He’s been to Nebraska and Ohio State. He’s also expected to visit Michigan football this week, which is what the Sparty fans were freaking out about. Some of them were even getting into arguments with Mangham’s family on social media.

It was a classy moment for sure.

Former Michigan football player visits Sparty to a different reaction

I understand it can be hard to see a player leave and go to a rival. Mangham was also one of their better players so it had to be even more triggering. But the difference between that reaction and the reaction to Semaj Bridgeman, a former Michigan football player, visiting Michigan State, was interesting.

Bridgeman posted that he visited Michigan State on Saturday and instead of freaking out, most Michigan football fans wished him well. The four-star linebacker didn’t play for the Wolverines last season but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t. He’s got a good chance to be a good player for someone and it might be Michigan State.

Scott Bell summed things up pretty well, as he usually does and it would be hard to blame Mangham or anyone for choosing Michigan football over Michigan State. The Wolverines are the defending national champions and have one of the best defenses in college football.

Michigan State has a brighter future under their new head coach and the roster might soon include a former Wolverine, just as we hope Michigan’s roster soon has a former Spartan DB.
