Michigan football landed a visit with 2026 IOL Jax Tanner on Wednesday, according to On3’s EJ Holland. It’s targeting Tanner as a center, and his official trip is set for June 13-15. The Wolverines are coming off a 2025 cycle in which it finished with the No. 6 class in the country (per On3).

Tanner stands at 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, and is entering his senior season at Rocky Mountain High (Meridian, ID). The three-star recruit also has offers from Oregon, Boise State, Penn State, USC and more.

The Ducks have a 97.1 percent chance to land Tanner (per On3), and Michigan second-most likely to land him at just 1.4 percent. However, Tanner won’t have to sign anywhere for almost a full year, so much could change.

In 2025’s cycle, Michigan was able to bring in ESPN five-star OT Ty Haywood, five-star OT Andrew Babalola, four-star IOL Avery Gach and three-star IOL Kaden Strayhorn. Offensive line coach Grant Newsome was recently named as the third-best recruiter in the country, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
