Over the weekend, the Wolverines downed East Carolina at Michigan Stadium in the 2023 season opener. That said, there were two Michigan football stars who missed the game due to injuries that carried over from fall camp — cornerback Will Johnson and safety Rod Moore. Today, Jim Harbaugh gave an injury update on both, stating that they are both still questionable for this weekend’s Week 2 contest against the UNLV Rebels.
Injury update for pair of Michigan football stars
This weekend, at 3:30 PM (EST), Michigan football (1-0) will take the field for the second time during the 2023 season; this time, the Wolverines are hosting the UNLV Rebels (1-0). That said, just as we saw last weekend, there are a few Michigan football stars who may not be available quite yet, as both Rod Moore and Will Johnson are working through injuries right now.
Jim Harbaugh is still unsure if this duo of star defensive backs will be in the game against UNLV this weekend. When asked about it this morning, Harbaugh responded, “I think there’s an opportunity this week (for them to both see action) — we’ll see.”
Rod Moore, Will Johnson still questionable for UNLV game
While Rod Moore and Will Johnson could potentially miss a second-straight game this weekend, there is still good news for Michigan football. UNLV is not a tough opponent, and just as we saw against East Carolina last weekend, the Wolverines should cruise to victory regardless of Moore and Johnson’s presence on the field.
With that said, having these two Michigan football stars on the field would be massive for the Maize and Blue regardless of opponent, so we are hoping for the best right now.
