Michigan football could have four first round picks in April’s NFL draft, with defensive tackle Kenneth Grant possibly rounding out the group. Grant is projected to go 16th overall to the Arizona Cardinals in the most recent mock draft – up from his predicted selection at No. 20 from early in January.

Nolan Bianchi of the Detroit News reported Wednesday that Grant said he’d like to play for the Detroit Lions. When the Lions met with Grant, they were “very cordial”, and “challenged” him.

Grant said he wants to run a 4.8 40-yard dash, which seems attainable given that he also said he’s down to 332 pounds (from 345).

The Indiana native is still looking to expand his game heading into his professional career.

“For sure I think my pass rushing could get better,” Grant told CBS Sports’ Leger Douzable Wednesday. “I did a little bit of shaking and baking at this size, but guys are telling me (to) just go forward, just bull-rush, things like that, so I’m trying to incorporate that into my game.”

Grant, along with former teammate Mason Graham, could make an immediate impact on just about any team they go to. Defensive lineman and linebackers compete at the combine Thursday (Feb. 27) at 3 p.m.
