On Saturday, against the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes, all-star offensive lineman Zak Zinter went down with some kind of scary injury during the third quarter of the Wolverines’ impressive 30-24 victory. After the game, we heard from acting head coach Sherrone Moore, who offered a bit of good news on Zinter’s scary Michigan football injury.
Michigan football injury update for Zak Zinter following scary moment on Saturday
Michigan football offensive guard Zak Zinter is likely done for the rest of the 2023 season after going down during the second half of this weekend’s win over Ohio State. Sherrone Moore, the team’s offensive line coach, offensive coordinator, and today’s acting head coach, gave a bit of good news after the game, stating that Zinter’s family gave him “positive news” from the hospital after the win.

Now, Moore wasn’t at liberty to add anything further, and there is essentially no shot that Zak Zinter will return to the Michigan football sideline this season, but it’s good to hear that Zinter seems to be doing alright. Below is an update on Zinter from one of his family members.
Zak Zinter injury creates terrifying scene on the field
Everyone knew that Zinter’s injury was serious when he was down on the ground with other Wolverines motioning to the sideline for immediate help. After a few minutes passed, Zinter’s teammates flooded onto the field as “Let’s Go Zak” chants flooded the Big House.

The play after Zak Zinter was carted off, Michigan football punched in a touchdown (Blake Corum) from 20+ yards out, giving the Wolverines a 24-17 lead — a lead that eventually turned into a six-point win over the Ohio State Buckeyes. After scoring, Corum threw up Zinter’s number, 65, as a celebration.
