Jim Harbaugh, one of the top head coaches in all of college football, is yet to coach Michigan football this year due to suspension. This weekend, against Rutgers, the Wolverines’ 9th-year head coach will return to the Big House for the first time since last year’s win over Illinois — earlier this week, Blake Corum shared his thoughts and what this week’s game will mean for him, having Harbaugh back.
Michigan football gets Jim Harbaugh back this week
This weekend, for the Wolverines’ Big Ten opener against Rutgers at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Jim Harbaugh will officially be back. Harbaugh, who has won two straight Big Ten titles and more with the Wolverines since the turn of the decade, is revered as one of the top coaches in the sport and is a beloved local figure.
Blake Corum thrilled about his coach’s return
While everyone is excited about Michigan football getting Harbaugh back, few are as happy about it as his players — especially team captain and star running back Blake Corum.
“Definitely happy to have him back this weekend,” Blake Corum said, talking about Jim Harbaugh in a new interview with On3. “Definitely has been missed on the sideline for sure. You know, but just having him throughout my career, he’s been the best coach I could ever ask for, you know. He’s someone I would want to run through a wall for, someone that you know, I admire and listen to. Just a great overall human being, great coach, players coach. Everything a player wants, Coach Harbaugh has, and, you know, I’m blessed to call him my coach.
“He’s always gonna be there for you,” Corum said, talking about Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh. “Whatever you need, you know, and he loves the game of football. As a football player, that’s what you want. You know, someone that’s willing to go the extra mile and coach Harbaugh, like you said, he’s a player’s coach. And I love him.”
Michigan football looking to down Rutgers this weekend
Michigan football is a 24-point favorite against Rutgers this weekend. So far, without Jim Harbaugh, the Maiz and Blue are 0-3 against the spread, which is something that the Wolverines are looking to change heading into Big Ten play.
