Wednesday afternoon, Michigan football finally put the speculation to rest and flipped four-star defensive lineman Cameron Brandt from Stanford. Brandt is another solid addition to the Wolverines’ 2023 recruiting class, which now contains 31 prospects in total — four of which are defensive linemen.
What does Brandt bring to the table for Michigan football?
According to 247 sports, Cameron Brandt is a four-star overall (three-star composite) prospect from Chatsworth, CA. Brandt — a 6-4, 260 lbs defensive line prospect — is ranked as the No. 453 player in the nation, the No. 51 defensive lineman, and the No. 35 player in California by 247 Sports. He also has an 0.8894 composite grade.
For a high school prospect, Brandt has incredible size and a good amount of speed to pair.
Brandt flips from Stanford to Michigan football
Cameron Brandt has been committed to Stanford for some time; however, a recent coaching change seemed to reopen his recruitment, and Jim Harbaugh jumped on the opportunity. Here is what Brandt had to say about his flip in commitments according to 247 Sports.
“It came down to where I thought I fit in the best and where I could see myself at for the next four years. When I looked at everything, that was Michigan for me. I think they can mold and develop me in to the best football player I can be.”
Brandt improves Michigan’s newest class
Cameron Brandt’s commitment brings Michigan’s 2023 class up to 31 prospects, four along the defensive line, and adds another talented piece to the room. Michigan football currently boasts the No. 19 overall class, No. 14 transfer class, and No. 18 composite class per 247 Sports.
