If you follow Michigan football recruiting, then you have probably been wondering if three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright, a Wolverines commitment in the 2025 class, is going to visit LSU.

According to a new report, Wright is going to visit LSU this week. It’s something that’s been talked about and it’s not shocking considering that he’s from Destrehan, Louisiana.

The Tigers started making a push for Wright near his commitment date. That got them in the final top three along with Michigan football and Georgia.

Wright, who is ranked No. 428 overall in the 2025 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, pledged to the Wolverines, but there was already talk that LSU would aim the flip the explosive wideout who runs the 100-meter dash in 10.56.

Wright has already risen over 100 spots in the composite rankings since he committed to the Wolverines earlier this month. The visit by the Tigers isn’t a good sign, but Michigan football fans have reason for optimism.

Phillip Wright will also attend Michigan football BBQ

According to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, Wright is going to visit LSU this week. However, he’s reporting that the dynamic wideout will also visit Michigan for a two-day visit.

That sounds promising. An unofficial visit is one paid on your own dime as a recruit (outside of a few things), and if he was going to flip or it was a certainty, it’s hard to see him taking that visit to Ann Arbor.

That’s especially true since he just visited last month. So that’s a big positive. It doesn’t mean he won’t flip but it does make it feel like it’s not a sure thing.
