No. 10 Michigan football (4-2, 2-1) suffered its second loss of the season Saturday night. The Wolverines gave up 13 points in the fourth quarter to fall to Washington 27-17. The Huskies (4-2, 2-1) took advantage of a fourth-quarter fumble by senior quarterback Jack Tuttle and never looked back.

Washington missed a field goal on their first drive but went on to jump ahead late in the first quarter after Denzel Boston caught his eighth touchdown of the season. The Michigan offense punted on its first three drives with junior quarterback Alex Orji under center.

Following another Husky touchdown in the second quarter, the Wolverines put Tuttle on the field for the first time this season

Tuttle marched Michigan down the field and helped put its first points on the board, with senior running back Donovan Edwards taking a 39-yard run to the house. The Wolverines put up three more points before the half was over and went into the locker room down 14-10.

On the opening possession of the second half, Tuttle and the Wolverines went 75 yards in 11 plays ending in a touchdown to tight end Colston Loveland. Just like that, Michigan had the lead, 17-14, but those were the last points put on the board by the maize and blue.

The next four Michigan possessions ended in either a punt or a turnover. Senior Washington quarterback Will Rogers was in complete control of his offense, and aside from an interception in the fourth quarter by senior linebacker Ernest Hausmann, he had his way in the second half. The go-ahead touchdown for Washington was ran in by junior running back Jonah Coleman from one yard out with just over six minutes to play.

The interception by Tuttle all but sealed the game, and Washington tacked on three more before the final whistle. Tuttle showed promise in his first appearance this season, and the Wolverines will have some time to figure out who starter is with a bye week ahead.
