Just days after landing the top player coming out of Montana in tight end Matt Ludwig, Michigan got a commitment from three-star tight end Mason Bonner. Hailing from Denver, CO, Bonner is a three-star recruit and cements the tight end class for the Wolverines in 2026.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 200 pounds, On3 has Bonner ranked as the No. 2 player in Colorado and No. 21 tight end in the country. Bonner picked Michigan over Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado State, Miami and more.

Bonner told On3 that he values the humble culture at Michigan.

“I like how Michigan isn’t flashy,” Bonner said after his spring visit. “You may think that they are flashy because they are Michigan. But they are a team that is ready to go all of the time.”

Bonner had another visit set for June 6, but his mind is made up. As a junior, he posted 33 catches for 617 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a tight end with a large frame, Bonner could excel early in his career.

Bonner is the seventh player from the class of 2026 to commit to Michigan. The Wolverines’ 2026 recruiting class is ranked top 20 nationally, according to On3, and is No. 5 in the Big Ten.
