On Wednesday, one of the top running back prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle announced that Michigan football is in his top-4 remaining schools. Jordan Marshall is a must-get for the Wolverines — he would fit Harbaugh’s system perfectly and has the size and tools to become the next great running back to wear the Winged Helmet.
Who is Jordan Marshall?
Jordan Marshall is a 5-11, 195 lbs running back prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. Marshall currently plays for Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, OH, and many recruiting outlets are high on him as a prospect.
According to 247 Sports, Marshall is a four-star composite recruit, ranked No. 105 nationally, No. 8 among running backs, and No. 5 in Ohio. Jim Harbaugh has been hitting the Ohio pipeline hard in the 2024 class, and landing Marshall would be a massive addition to Michigan’s already solid 2024 class.
Marshall would fit in perfectly with Mike Hart’s system
Mike Hart — a Michigan football legend turned running backs coach — could use a talent like Marshall in his upcoming running back rooms. Right now, Mike Hart commands the best RB duo in the nation in his position room: Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards. That being said, there is a good chance that both Corum and Edwards will be gone after 2023, and having the talent to replace them (or try to fill their shoes) is essential.
Jordan Marshall is down to four schools, three of which are in the Big Ten: Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. Suppose the Wolverines manage to swoop in and steal a significant Ohio prospect from the Buckeyes. In that case, we could see a massive swing in Michigan’s favor regarding national recruiting momentum.
