Michigan football suffered some misses early this month on the recruiting trail, but it seems like the Wolverines are heating up again.

Head coach Sherrone Moore posted twice on X on Sunday, teasing two commitments for Michigan football. One of those seems like it will be Andrew Olesh, the four-star tight end from Pennsylvania who announced that his commitment announcement will come on Monday.

Yet, when Moore posted for a second time, it made you wonder who he was talking about. Phillip Wright, a three-star wide receiver from Louisiana is expected to make his commitment known on July 11th.

However, there is more good news coming Michigan’s way as Steve Wiltfong, one of the leading recruiting experts, and also EJ Holland of The Wolverine, have projected Notre Dame commitment Ivan Taylor to flip to the Wolverines in the 2025 class.

Taylor, a 6-foot, 174-pound safety who is ranked 50th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He visited Michigan football in June and there have been rumblings that the Wolverines are gaining momentum.

JaDon Blair was a top target of Michigan football and Notre Dame. He recently committed to Notre Dame and the Irish have been loading up on defensive backs. Maybe that’s a consideration for Taylor, but Taylor is one of the top-ranked defensive backs in the entire 2025 class and would have a huge recruiting win for the Wolverines.

Usually, when Wiltfong makes a prediction like this, a commitment tends to follow, so stay tuned, because it’s now flip season for Michigan football.
