On Tuesday, Michigan football received a whopping four crystal balls to flip defensive lineman Cameron Brandt. Brandt is a four-star prospect according to 247 Sports (three-star composite, 0.8894 grade) and is currently committed to Stanford University.
Who is Cameron Brandt?
We have said it repeatedly and will say it once more: Michigan football has an exciting class on its way to Ann Arbor for the 2023 season. The Wolverines’ class ranks 18th nationally with 15 four-star players and 15 three-star players committed to this point.
Cameron Brandt — a 6-4, 260 lbs defensive lineman out of Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, CA — is ranked as the No. 453 player in the nation, the No. 51 defensive lineman, and the No. 35 player in California by 247 Sports.
Michigan football could land a significant flip
Since Stanford was forced to find a new head football coach, Brandt’s recruitment has become interesting. Early on, it seemed as if Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines were in play; now, it appears that Michigan is the favorite to land Brandt.
Additionally, Michigan football already has two Stanford transfers on their way to Ann Arbor: center Drake Nugent and tackle Myles Hinton. Cam Brandt — a standout defensive lineman in the 2023 class — could join those two in a winged helmet this fall.
If the Wolverines manage to pull Brandt, he would be Michigan’s fourth defensive line commit in the 2023 class and its 31st commit overall. Adding Brandt would be a remarkable turnaround from what has been a disappointing week of recruiting for the Wolverines thus far.
