This recent surge of Michigan football recruiting momentum is what fans of the Wolverines have wanted in the past three seasons after beating Ohio State, winning the Big Ten and the national title.

There are a few reasons that didn’t quite happen. They are well-documented but uncertainty at head coach and NIL issues certainly played a role.

Now, it appears that both of those hurdles have been cleared. Michigan football might not be dropping bags on high school recruits but the NIL has taken a big step forward. That much is obvious.

And Sherrone Moore is absolutely killing it. Michigan fans expected a recruiting bump from the new head coach and it has finally arrived.

Michigan has landed two commitments on Sunday alone. That is three this week, the second week in a row with three verbal commitments.

Another positive trend for Michigan football

The Wolverines have 10 pledges in the 2025 class, eight of which are blue-chip prospects. According to the latest crystal balls/expert projections, a four-star wideout is set to join that list of commitments as the Wolverines are trending with another blue-chip wideout.

Jacob Washington is a  6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver out of Marrero, Louisiana, and is ranked No. 320 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class. Washington has also visited Baylor, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi State, but the Wolverines feel like the clear leader.

The Wolverines got a crystal ball from Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider. They also have an 82-percent chance of landing Washington according to the On3 prediction machine after EJ Holland projected him to Michigan football also.

Washington, Andrew Marsh (4-star WR), Andrew Olesh (4-star TE), Maxwell Roy (4-star DL), Taz Williams (4-star WR), and Chase Taylor (3-star LB) are all trending in favor of the Wolverines.

And that’s not all. Not even close.
