LOS ANGELES — We just heard from Michigan football quarterback JJ McCarthy ahead of Monday’s Rose Bowl matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide. On Friday, McCarthy revealed that his ankle injury is back to 100 percent — another positive sign for the Maize and Blue heading into the College Football Playoff semi-final in a few days.

Today, JJ McCarthy had a chance to explain where things stand in terms of his injury status heading into the Rose Bowl, which will send either Michigan football or Alabama to the national title game.

The latest injury intel on McCarthy bodes well for the Wolverines, as it appears that he is 100 percent healthy and ready to go for the playoff.

“Yeah, (I’m) 100 percent,” he said. “Everything is great in terms of ankles, knees, head, shoulders. Everything is great.”

We also heard from JJ McCarthy on his thoughts about the public perception of him. According to the junior quarterback, what outsiders think is not of his concern — below is what he said.

“I wouldn’t know (what people say about me),” McCarthy explained. “I don’t know what other people are saying about me. I’m just going to focus on doing what I do on a day-to-day basis and give it all I’ve got.”

Michigan football and Alabama will face off on Monday afternoon, and if all goes as planned for JJ McCarthy and his Wolverines, they’ll be playing for the program’s first national title since 1997 in no time.
