Michigan Football Working to Flip Colorado & Auburn Commits

How does the 2025 class look midway through the regular season?

A bye week for No. 24 Michigan football likely means an uptick in recruiting for the week. Halfway through the regular season, the Wolverines are working on flipping multiple prospects.

Four-star 2025 cornerback Donovan Starr seems to be one of the priorities for the program. Starr committed to Auburn in June but still has his options open.

The Brentwood, Tennessee native took an official visit to Illinois in September, and he was offered by Alabama on Thursday. Michigan has just three defensive backs committed for 2025, so Starr would be a valuable addition to the defense.

Michigan Recruiting Another Option at Cornerback

Luckily for the maize and blue, there could be another four-star cornerback available in their backyard. Alex Graham returned to Detroit Cass Tech for his senior season after leaving for IMG Academy in Florida.

Graham has been committed to Colorado since April but visited Michigan for the USC game, and spoke to The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich about his relationship with defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan.

“Really the main one is coach Morgan (I’ve been talking to),” Graham said. “We talk a lot and he got to meet my parents that weekend like my mom for the first time and my little brothers, so it was good. She thought he was a good guy. They had their own great time she said and she thinks he’s a great guy.”

Michigan is also looking for players to fill the defensive line. 2025 three-star DL Quante Gillians (NY) committed to Syracuse in June, but the Wolverines have been in constant contact. The Wolverines offered him in September, and he has a visit lined up.

“It’s going to be October 26th for the Michigan State vs. Michigan game. (I’ll be visiting with) my mom, aunt and uncle,” Gillians told TMI’s Marich. “(I’m looking forward to) the atmosphere they have on game day and seeing their defensive ends play in person.”
