This fall, the Big Ten has a new TV deal, meaning the traditional Big Ten scheduling will be undergoing some notable changes. So far, this year’s Michigan football schedule contains three night games — two of which are conference games, most notably against Michigan State.

2023 Michigan football schedule contains three night games and counting

Per reports, the first Michigan football night game this year will be against Bowling Green State University — the Wolverines’ final non-conference game of the 2023 season. For Michigan, this game will cap off a less-than-impressive non-conference slate, likely resulting in a 3-0 start for the Wolverines. Right now, Michigan is slated to host BGSU on September 16th at the Big House for a 7:30 PM (EST) kick-off, which will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

The second Michigan football night game thus far is slated to be against the Michigan State Spartans on October 21st in East Lansing, MI. This game is also penciled in for a 7:30 PM (EST) kick-off and will be on NBC. As many fans will recall, Michigan football hosted the Spartans for a night game kick-off in Ann Arbor at the end of October last fall, a game in which the Wolverines claimed a lopsided 22-point victory.

As of right now, Michigan’s final night game of the season is set to be an early-November matchup against last year’s Big Ten West champions — the Purdue Boilermakers. This game is also slated to kick off at 7:30 PM (EST), and like the MSU game, it will be on NBC. The last time Michigan football faced Purdue on the gridiron was last December for the Big Ten title — a game in which the Wolverines took home an impressive three-touchdown win and advanced to the College Football Playoff for the second season in a row.

Other notable kickoff times include a road matchup at Penn State (noon) and a home matchup against Ohio State (noon).
