Michigan football received commitments from three transfers on Monday in cornerback/brother duo TJ and Tevis Metcalf and offensive lineman Brady Norton. Over the weekend the Wolverines are expected to host a visit for No. 1 transfer running back Justice Haynes (Alabama).
No. 1 transfer running back Justice Haynes visiting Michigan
Running backs Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards played their last games at the Big House in a 50-6 shellacking of Northwestern. With both backs set for the NFL draft, fellow RB Benjamin Hall said he sees himself as “a future leader of this team.”
He might have to wait another year to lead, at least on the field, as Haynes has what it takes to start in week one. Quarterback Jalen Milroe led Alabama in rushing this season, and the backfield was run as a committee. Haynes led all Crimson Tide running backs with 5.7 yards per carry in a season in which he totaled 79 carries for 448 yards and seven touchdowns.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong, Haynes will visit Ole Miss on Tuesday, South Carolina on Thursday and Michigan over the weekend. Ohio State is reportedly “fighting to stay in this one” too.
Out of the 2025 high school recruiting class, the Wolverines added running backs Donovan Johnson (three-star recruit) and Jasper Parker (four-star recruit).
