Michigan to face Alabama in ReliaQuest Bowl

The Wolverines are 3-3 all-time in the ReliaQuest Bowl (previously the Outback Bowl and Hall of Fame bowl). No other Big Ten team has appeared in the bowl game more. It will be Michigan’s 53rd bowl game appearance in program history, which ranks 11th in the FBS.

“We are excited and honored to represent the University of Michigan and the Big Ten Conference in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa,” said head coach Sherrone Moore in a press release. “This is a great opportunity for our team to finish the season against an outstanding SEC opponent in Alabama. We look forward to competing against Coach Kalen DeBoer and his highly ranked Crimson Tide.”

The last time Michigan played Alabama, it was for a trip to the national championship. In an overtime thriller, the maize and blue came out on top 27-20. The Wolverines are 9-9 against SEC teams in bowl games and 26-13-1 overall.
