Last weekend, Michigan football star Blake Corum finally broke the 100-yard mark for the first time since his injury last fall. On top of that, the elite running back punched in a pair of touchdowns, leading the way to a 31-6 victory over Bowling Green. Ahead of this week’s Big Ten opener at Michigan Stadium, the senior Wolverine has now inked a new NIL deal with 7-Eleven, which is the latest news in a series of major wins for Michigan’s Name, Image, and Likeness efforts.
Michigan football star Blake Corum inks new NIL deal
There were a lot of complaints about the Wolverines’ relationship with NIL over the past few years; however, recently, it appears that the school has been fixing the issues and is one of the leaders in regards to NIL. Today, it was reported that Michigan football star Blake Corum — an elite running back and one of the top players in college football — has inked a new NIL deal with 7-Eleven. This is part of a new campaign labeled ‘The Cleat Crew,’ where fans will be able to win custom cleats from a number of major college football players.
The deal includes working with The Shoe Surgeon — a leader in luxury shoe design — who will help design and create these custom cleats. Alongside Michigan football star Blake Corum are eight other top college players: Box Nix, Travis Hunter, Dorian Singer, Marvin Harrison Jr., Trevor Etienne, Kameron Arnold, Nick Singleton, and Quinn Erwers.
All of the proceeds from these auctions will be going to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Blake Corum’s cleats will be auctioned from November 24th- through November 29th — it will benefit Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Statement from 7-Eleven Vice President
“It’s inspiring to watch this next generation of role models get fired up for service – and we are proud to support these young athletes as they give back to their communities,” said 7-Eleven executive vice president Marissa Jarratt, per On3. “At 7-Eleven and Speedway, we are always looking for ways to spark more awesome in our brand fans’ days, whether that’s through exciting collabs, giving back to the community, or providing the snacks they need to host the ultimate tailgate.”
